Becky has been a qualified teacher for the last 15 years and also runs her own business the Ink Bin, a company which recycles Ink cartridges and supports charities and good causes at the same time, us being one of them! Becky leads our Eco Citizen Award and will be delivering our environmental projects.
Throughout the early stage of my employment, I have worked within the Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry. Starting as a Line operative to a Print Room Operative, I am familiar with a quick-paced environment with understanding the importance of personal safety and the safety of others. Though I have worked within the Colchester area, my goal to expand my working career and skills in the I-cloud sector as I move on to the Ipswich area.
As a volunteer, I have worked closely within Great Horkesley and Mile End Scouts Group as a Section Leader. I organised a yearly programme for the youngest section which housed children between the ages of 6 and 8 years. The section I oversaw included 2 to 4 assistant Leaders as well as the 10 to 12 children under our supervision. The programme would include a variety of indoor and outdoor activities e.g. nights away, workplace visits, nature trails, diverse games etc. The children would be given awards on completion of their programme before advancing into the older sections of the local group. As part of my training, I had to undertake and demonstrate safeguarding and emergency response whenever and wherever the need arose. This then led to achieving my Wood Badge as a fully qualified Section Leader.
As a historical re-enactor, I would participate in public events to portray a soldier during the American Civil War between 1861 to 1865 along with periods of European History dating from the 3rd Century to 19th Century. At these events, my role was to help display the scenarios of Mid-Victorian North America to the highest authentic standard. This would include speaking with members of the public about the uniform I am wearing, the weapons that we used, the equipment we were using and the history behind the period we were portraying. As well as educating the public, we would run displays or fighting and skirmishing that form an integral part of the period we display. With this in mind, we familiarise ourselves with the safe use of firearms and demonstrate the correct practice to ensure the safety o ourselves and members of the public.
My name is Nanine, I am 23 years old and am a recent graduate. I obtained a Bsc in Psychology at Brunel University in 2018. During that time, I had the pleasure of being involved with a number of charities, including supporting victims of crime. I am experienced in mentoring and supporting vulnerable adults and children, individuals with learning difficulties and physical disabilities.
I currently work in a niche market of technology. I work as a specialist in facial recognition and biometric documents, for a digital identity platform. Alongside this, I am an aspiring entrepreneur, who is currently in the works of starting a business.
I am a sports enthusiast, who likes to take on crazy challenges for charities such as half marathons. I fundraise and help to raise awareness for charities and what they stand for. To date, I have completed challenges for Lennox childrens cancer trust, meningitis research, Anthony Nolan, Macmillan and Mencap.
I began my working life, aged 16, at a Medical Product manufacturer where I held a variety of positions over 11 years, mainly in customer service based roles. After being made redundant I took on a Customer Care role in the security industry and spent 8 years working in Job Centre’s and other Government buildings.
My dream was to work in the hospitality industry and in 2010 took the opportunity of a Night Porter role at a newly opening hotel and spa. I have been at Lifehouse spa & hotel ever since. During my time here I have progressed up the ranks from Night Porter to Night Manager, then switched to the Finance team, working my way up to Finance Director. In February 2019 I was promoted once again to Finance and Operations Director which now means I hold overall responsibility for the hotel and spa.
Whilst working at Lifehouse I have completed an ILM level 4 Leadership and Management apprenticeship and for the last 2 years have been studying towards my Charted Institute of Management Accounting qualification. I have been mentored in my role my the owner of the business and feel that this is a fantastic way of learning the skills you need within the workplace.
I have been in banking for 30+ years and now lead a team of business managers across an area that runs from Clacton to Diss, we typically look after business with a turnover of £400k-£5m and have varying types of business. I have worked within personal banking and also been a ‘traditional’ branch manager over the time of my career. I was born and raised in Clacton and have spent most of my working life in North Essex & Suffolk.
My name is David and through a varied career path I have amassed a variety of life skills which I am confident with aid me in the mentoring program we have embarked upon with UE. After leaving school I working on a YTS scheme at Marconi Communication in Chelmsford which I love as we cover all aspects of the business. These ranged from the drawing school through to working on the lathes and milling machines and later to electroplating and inspection offers to check the military grade PCB boards. Sadly there was no job offering at the end of the process and after leaving the program I found myself taking a number of roles that weren't planned.
The vast majority of my working life, however, has been sales focused and business development has been an area where I have found the greatest success. Since 2007 I worked in the online marketing sector for a number of Website companies covering a range of services such as web design, SEO, Paid Search and UX. In recent years I branched out becoming a partner in a website business based in Colchester where I handled the new business and customer management side of the business. I recently took up a new challenge working with Pull Not Push a revolution in selling (for people who hate it!) as part of the delivery team and along with Lisa Ansell the author of this engaging sales methodology that will change the way you arrive a sale. I am married to my husband Andy and we have two children (both girls and not really children anymore) plus my dog Zoey and my father in law also lives with us. I like socialising, baking and I am very artistic and love making things, always good to have when your youngest daughter does not like art at school.
I am a Barclays Business Manager covering Colchester and all of the Tendring area from Manningtree right up to Harwich and Dovercourt to Clacton. I have been in banking since 1989 when I first joined Barclays then back in 2007 I left due to redundancy, I then went to work for RBS/NatWest which I was working in the private banking team for a short time in London then I moved into a Business manager role in Braintree back in 2008 where I trained. In 2016 I was again made redundant from NatWest. I did around 10 months working for a fuel card company but this was all cold calling and not really my ideal job. Then I re-joined Barclays back in 2017 as a Business Manager which I am now looking after around 120 businesses customers and looking to expand my services to other non-Barclays customers who turnover over £400k and above.
I am known to be a highly motivated and positive individual and I love to take on a challenge. I am an active member of the business banking team but also capable of working on my own. I use my knowledge and skills to coach and develop individuals to maximize their success. . I pride myself on helping others, whether in the business or personally and like to think I offer well-rounded knowledge to all those I help. I am a marathon runner and love keeping fit. I have worked in the Hospitality & Travel industry for over 20 years. I started out as a Receptionist for a 3 star hotel, and have made my way through the ranks to my current role as a Director of Revenue & Sales at Lifehouse Spa & Hotel. Bringing over 50,000 Overnight and Day spa guests each year to our Resort, some of my responsibilities include leading the Reservations, Scheduling, Meetings, Events and Sales teams, Rooms & Spa Days pricing strategy and working closely with all other departments to maximise overall revenue. Throughout my career, I have worked with some great people who have inspired me to do better and achieve more, and I would like nothing more than to pass this on to others. My biggest moments have included reaching the finals for the Hotel and Caterer - Revenue Manager of the Year, gaining my ILM Level 4 in Leadership and Management, and joining as pre-opening team for lifehouse – being part of growing a successful business is a real achievement. I live with my Partner Antony, two cats and a bearded Dragon called Cilla. I love nothing more than escaping to the countryside and exploring the outdoors.

Having worked in the Construction industry for over 20 years, I have a broad experience of project management and mentoring people to get the most from their strengths.
I have managed small businesses and also worked in companies turning over in excess of £1bn. Around 7 years ago I set up my own small business offering consultancy services to construction companies. I’ve been lucky enough to work on a number of prestigious projects including a new Critical Care Unit at Kings College Hospital, the new Civic Centre in Hounslow and most recently, the new Arrivals Terminal at Stansted Airport.
I’m passionate about learning and development and have a degree in Engineering and Masters in Project Management. A discovery of mine is that academic skills are best balanced with skills that are useful when working with people. I’ve also studied NLP and mindfulness practice for my personal development.
